It is exactly what you see. You can completely unplug yourself from the world. The only times we left the property were to go get something to eat. I highly recommend it, the place is stunning

We couldn't have been more disappointed with our stay at Azulik. It was recommended to us by someone who must have stayed there years ago because since then I think there has been zero upkeep . The windows were dirty , the jacuzzi leaked , the faucet in the bath was wired together , the sink faucet never stopped dripping . The lady in the reception said the restaurant was in remodulation so there was no food . There is no electricity ever ! so be prepared. Our cabin was perched on top of rocks in front of the sea and there was garbage of plastic bottles etc. that you would think workers in the hotel would clean up . Azulik is horribly overpriced , not worth a tenth of what they charge . There are many beautiful cabins in Tulum , choose any other . WiFi doesn't exist there either !

The restaurant was excellent. The people were very nice. The building was unique. There was a very long hollowed out log bath tub. The ocean was almost at the door step. It was stunning.

There was no air conditioning. At 5 in the morning it was still sweaty hot both inside and out. The walls are glass with two foot gaps where there are no curtains--no privacy. There was no cold water. Therefore the sink that only had one tap did not have water. The toilet had no water. I managed to flush it by running hot water into the tub and then using a pitcher I borrowed from the restaurant to bail water into the back of the toilet. I took a bath by emptying the water cooler using the same pitcher into the hot water of the tub. It also helped that after twenty minutes the hot water was considerably cooler. It was a long, hot, sweaty night. Followed by no cold water. The electric lights barely glimmered. We read by flashlight. Our friends room had a rusty lock that needed work before it would function. Very ran down without a maintainence wizard plus $ to make things work.

Not much really. They turn the electricity of at night to be Eco- friendly! Nobody told us this on check-in so the room became roasting at night as not even the fan worked.

The facilities were not as described. No way was it a 4 star hotel. There wasn't a safety deposit box which was our main reason for choosing that place.

    on the beach good location

very poor comfort not hot water after 10 pm very old bathroom missing curtains so peaole could see you noisy

The hotel is in front of the beach and have wifi.

Eco-friendly means no comfortable. No light between 23:00 and 07:00 and salty water on the bathroom. There should be some lights outside all the time so you can properly locate and access your room. There are no beach facilities (restaurant, hammocks, etc.) but you can use the ones provided by the hotel next door. Spa prices are very high and do not worth the effort.

Rustic cabine at the see. It was quite at night. Romantic place with candles. Small beds. Ni wifi =time for real things. Parking and bikes close.

No wifi bad for long stays. Small beds for peopl over 5 foot. No Breakfast.

I liked the closeness to the beach.

My cabana no. 1 was right on the road. Lots of traffic noise and exhaust fumes. This place needs some work. The cabana had huge gaps between the poles making up the walls. Possibly the other cabanas are better they seem to have been finished better but my neighbour didn't seem to happy either. It was more like camping but the bed was comfortable. I had internet trouble here also. Next time I will stay in the pueblo.

  • Group of friends

    Good beach

It is terrible! They lie about 4 stars hotel, while it can't even pretend on 1* hotel. The bungalow where we lived was dirty with dirty towels. No electricity after 9 p.m. Wi-FI works not always and very slow. I would not strongly recommend to stay in this hotel. Never!

  • Couple
    4.2

location on the beach (even if not the best beach), proximity of all the main spots

this hotel was terrible: - no hot water - no electricity after 10pm (and therefore no fan) - very dirty - sink not working - no towels DO NOT GO EXCEPT IF YOU ARE REALLY REALLY SHORT ON MONEY

  • Couple
    5.4

Zahra resort and spa is well located and backs on to a small but nice beach. There are some great bars nearby, selling very good food and very reasonably priced drinks.

There were a few things with Zahra that weren't particularly great. Firstly, our room was described as a 'bungalow with fan'. 'Bungalow' turned out to be a grandiose way of saying cabana, and we expected a lot more than what we got. Secondly, the fan had to be turned off at 11pm, as the hotel turns off the electricity late at night. Another problem was that our bedsheets were dirty. Finally, the hotel is called 'Resort and Spa'. Unless you're willing to fork out good money you'll be unable to access any of these facilities. The prices are comparable to what you would pay in the US, which would put off most budget travellers. In fairness to the staff, they were able to give us a different room after our issue with the sheets. Also, they were fairly relaxed about the 'no electricity after 11pm' rule. To sum it up, the hotel isn't bad. You get what you pay for as the price of the room is pretty cheap. However, it doesn't live up to its 4 star status, which I assume is self-ascribed. If you don't expect much you won't be disappointed. Just make sure that you don't get too excited when reading the hotel's description on this website.

  • Couple
    3.2

It was a cabaña next to the beach

No electricity beween 11pm and 7am : so no ventilation and we couldn't sleep during the night Common bathroom and toilets : dirty No curtains Why resort and spa ? No reason actually We don't recommend that hotel

  • Couple
    4.2

The location is good - the bungalows stay virtually on the beach.

    1. The electricity is off after 11 pm, and it comes back at 7 am. We took a room with fan, but in fact it does not work at night when it is the most necessary! As a result, it was that hot in the room that we could hardly sleep... No electricity at night in a 4 star resort??? This place should be kicked out from Booked.net! 2. There was no hot water in the bathroom. Cold water is pretty sufficient, but this was the only accommodation in Mexico without hot water that we stayed in. Besides, the sanitaries were pretty shabby. 3. The staff behaves as if they were stoned... They even did not serve coffee in the restaurant ("la maquina se ha roto")...

  • Group of friends
    8.2

It was very nice and comfortable. For the price it was great. The people working there were very friendly and courteous. It was rustic living but I expected it to be.

  • Family with children
    6.6

Garden before bungalows are nice and relaxing

You have to repair or change Windows that have to be all the same. We couldnt open Windows because they were broken. Pipe on the bath room could be new. For this money I expected that it had to be better.
